Edina Parks
Edina prides itself on its wealth of parks. The city itself operates nearly 40 parks and recrceational facilities.
Parks in Edina include:
Arneson Acres is home to the Edina Historical Society, the Edina Museum, and the City of Edina greenhouse. The 13.2 acres were donated by Morton and Katherine Arneson to Edina in the late 1970s.
The park now has 28 gardens. One such garden is a daylily garden which has more than 800 clumps of tetraploid daylilies. The brilliant colors they produce will be at their peak in mid-July.
Edinborough Park is an indoor public park. It has over 6,000 flowers, plants, and trees so you can enjoy the flora of summer even in the midst of a Minnesotan winter. It also has a junior-Olympic size swimming pool, a running track and fitness area, an indoor playground with a multi-purpose play area, and all of this is connected with pathways that meander through the verdant interior.
It has a 250-seat, Greek-style amphitheater in which it provides a wide variety of free cultural arts programs in the areas of music, theater, visual arts, and dance.
